Privacy, in plain words

Strengthen is a small app made by one person. It stores what it needs to work, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising.

The app

When you create an account, your email address and password are handled by Amazon Cognito. Your exercises, routines, settings and workouts are stored in Amazon Web Services in Sydney, Australia, so they’re there on every device you sign in on. While you’re offline, unsynced sets are kept in your browser until they upload.

Body measurements

The free Renpho CSV chart reads your file in your browser; nothing is uploaded. If you import a scale export into the app, those weigh-ins are saved to your account with your workouts, and you can delete them from the Body screen at any time.

The contact form and support tickets

A message you send through the contact page (your name, email, topic and message) becomes a support ticket, so the whole conversation stays in one place. You get a private link to it, and replies come from a strengthen.app address. You can answer on the ticket page or by replying to the email; a reply by email is added to the ticket as you wrote it, minus the quoted email below. Files you attach (on the page or to an email) are stored privately with the ticket, and only you, through your link, and I can open them. Tickets and their files are kept until you ask me to delete them. I only use them to help you. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check you’re a person; Cloudflare’s own privacy policy covers that check.

Emails about your ticket contain a small image that tells me when the email is opened, and the ticket page notes when you view it, so I know a reply reached you. Turning off images in your email app stops the first.

How the app is used

To see whether Strengthen is useful, the app keeps its own simple record of which days you used it and what kind of change you made, such as saving a workout or editing a routine. It never records what you lifted or wrote, and the daily records are deleted after two years.

No tracking

There are no third-party analytics trackers and no third-party cookies on this site or in the app.
